Ah, weekends....
I remember the carefree days of college, oh so many days ago. Where I did nothing on the weekends but busy myself with getting sun, going to baseball games, and trying to squeeze in an hour at the gym.
I was living the good life and didn't even know it!
I got a taste of it again this weekend, when Target inadvertantly gave me Saturday off. It was beautiful. I slept in, Joey made apple cinnamon pancakes, and then we watched a movie (in the middle of the day!). Then came the real adventures: hiking and shopping.
We hiked 3/4 of Camelback Mountain...gorgeous scenery (sorry no pics...digital camera is on the birthday/Christmas wish list!). Being able to do things like that makes me glad to live here. The view from the highest point we reached was amazing. All we could think about was now fun it would be to have rock climbing equipment. Katie and Matt would dig it. Joey could have made the whole hike...my out of shape legs were shaking...pathetic. But I enjoyed the workout, enjoyed the wildlife, and enjoyed my day not working.
Shopping was a fun experience as well. Because Joey has started his job as a teacher's aide at Hamilton High School, he had to get some khaki's and a shiny new brown belt. I also made him try on a pair of seersucker pants....soooo cute!
Overall a good but evil weekend. Good because I had fun, evil because it makes me never want to work a weekend ever again!
