Pioneer Days

So, I haven't posted pics in a while and I thought I'd give you guys an idea of what my last days in AZ were like! My co-workers threw me a going away party that ROCKED (That's all of the girls above).

Then Mom and I hung out with Leslie and the kids in Old Town Scottsdale, having a blast. Those kids are seriously so fun. YeeHaw!

Of course Mom and I stopped by the hizzy for a little Southern BBQ on our cross country journey, and this is my fav pic from that night:

Oh George! I love that little guy. My favorite story to tell about him is the "March of the Penguins" story....Joey and I were hanging out at the parents house and watching the movie with George. Well, at one point, the movie 'keeps it real' and lets us know that some mommies and daddies don't make it back, meaning that some of those cute little 'uns die. George cries his little eyes out and jumps in my lap for a hug. Joey, of course, doesn't know what to make of this whole situation because, I am (naturally! Jeez, I'm not HEARTLESS!) crying as well. He doesn't cry...weirdo:)

I'm not exactly sure why I chose to share that story, but I did! Hope you enjoy the pix. Will post more relevant ones when I'm not supposed to be asleep! I have an important conference call to attend with my favorite-est SVP and Partner at FH Miami....hum.....wonder who that is?!

****BTW, sorry for the stream of consciousness, but I'm watching Toby Keith performing "High Maintenance Woman" on The Colbert Report" and I'm DYING laughing. This is the stupidest song I've ever heard!!!!!!!! Laughing SO HARD RIGHT NOW!!!!!!*****

Love to you all,

RALEIGH

Wow...the last three months have brought so many changes. Joey is away in St. Louis playing ball, I'm now employed by my most favorite company in the world, oh, and I'm on the opposite side of the country.
The Dixie Chicks song, "Wide Open Spaces" is really poignant right about now! I thought that my big adventure was moving from Louisiana to Scottsdale, but that was only the very tip of the iceberg.

So many life changes.

I miss my best friends....Liz has a serious boyfriend that I've never met. I thought I told her that she couldn't date anyone that I haven't given to OK to!!!
Cathlean is now a mommy. I can't wait to love little Caroline as much as her mom.
Katie just pulled up roots in LA and has made the voyage to Oregon to begin life there with Matt....HOW EXCITING! I'm envious of their bond and courage to go into the unknown together.
Kristina, who became my lifelong friend while we worked at SWCP together, mailed an "I Miss You" card to my Raleigh office! I almost cried...it's soooo nice to be loved.

It's introspective times like these when I wonder what the heck I'm doing. Why am I not with my family in LA? I miss them so much. I keep thinking about our bbq a few Friday's ago and how much fun I have with them.

And I miss Joey desperately. He is truly my best friend in every way, and we get so little time to communicate. Well, at least May is already over! One month down, four to go.

I love my apartment! Mom really, really, really helped to make it a home. We had such a good time on our trip! I'm glad I got to spend that time with her! I'll post some pics later...just wanted to catch everyone up on what's been going on since March!

Love to all,
j
